Unique eggs benedict on a gluten free vegetable fritter lightened with mint and greens. I really enjoyed how this combination allowed me to feel indulgent and yet not weighed down.

The atmosphere is certainly more upscale which can be great for a fancier brunch, but would be even better for an evening out.

Service was excellent. Staff was well educated about dietary restrictions, menu options, and willing to ask the kitchen for any clarification required.

There were only a handful of veg/GF options including the veg fritter egg benny and shakshouka, but if you’re happy with limited menu options, you’ll be satisfied with the excellent quality of food and unique flavours.

Given that this place opened up under a new name only recently, it’s a great spot to try something new in Edmonton if you’re looking to change it up – a rare occurrence for celiacs in the city.

One of my favourite cafés in Edmonton! Their gluten free treats include flourless PB&C cookies (pictured below) and tahini cookies. Both are very tasty and newly they are packaged individually to make them even more celiac friendly! Their coffee is also excellent – I’ve never been disappointed by one of their roasts. Plus there’s a nice new multiuse sitting area outside the alley door in addition to the park and farmers market across the street. Very instagramable cafe & surrounding area if you’re looking for a cute place to shoot. I was a regular at the old location and the staff were amazing! When I was hoping to get some gift cards for friends and family, they offered a special arrangement to make it happen despite not having physical cards. I have nothing but good things to say about Woodrack – one of Edmonton’s finest gems for sure.

The nut cream is thick & tasty! You won’t notice it’s vegan. Plus, a very Instagram worthy location. Gluten free options were basically unlimited. I’ll have to go back another time because they were so busy opening week that they were short on ingredients in the evening. The strawberry nut cream is next on my list!

Update: I went back and the strawberry nut cream was totally worth it!! Highly recommend any drink with that in it.

Beautiful restaurant, very instagram-worthy, but not the best gluten free options. Limited celiac-friendly menu options. Of note, I was very much looking forward to the poutine that was noted as gluten free on the website and menu, but when I tried to order it, was told that it is in fact not gluten free. Definitely disappointing. Also, if you sub for gluten-free bread, the portion ends up being much smaller (see photo) due to the size discrepancy between the breads and no additional food items. Their drinks however were very aesthetic, fun, and tasty!

Hidden gem with delicious coffee that comes with its own little chocolate! Only a couple gluten free options but this chocolate peanut butter cup (see photo) was divine. You can choose to sit in the decor shop or plant shop with a glass roof for some sunlight and some of the freshest air you’ll breathe surrounded by all the plants for sale. Perfect for a unique spot for a first date or meet up with old friends.

Very authentic Mexican cuisine with lots of gluten free options. Several vegetarian options and other modifications available as well. The ingredients were simple and fresh. The hot sauces were very flavourful and delicious – I highly recommend trying one of each! You can’t go wrong with any of the taco flavours. We were lucky enough to meet the owner who revamped the restaurant after some changes in her personal life. If you’re looking to support a female and Mexican-owned business, look no further! You’ll feel good about spending your money here. Don’t forget to bring your camera for this instagram-worthy location.

Creative gluten free treats with lower sugar content, perfect for those of us who prefer our baking on the less sweet side. My go to is the Pumpkin Turmeric Spice Muffin made with molasses to give the moisture that gluten free baking often lacks. Many of their treats are vegan also which means a tasty coconut flavour added as the oil, but does affect the icing flavour (no dairy means it is not as creamy). If you are adapted to vegan baking, the icing is excellent!

They also have a full espresso bar, but probably most famous for their Cafe Fredo, which is essentially a bougie iced cap. There is no drip coffee in the afternoons so be ready for an americano at that time of day if that’s your go to.

I tried the Vanilla Nitro coffee for the first time today, which might be my new favourite! In keeping with the low sugar theme, it provides delicious flavour without the sweetness overhaul. It rivals my favourite S***bucks drink, which is a salted caramel cold brew no syrup.

Of note, this is a small, female-owned local business you will feel good about supporting. They were one of the only places to adopt clear masks during the pandemic to help those with hearing difficulties. Huge shoutout for making their communication more accessible!

Overall, definitely a place for celiacs to make their way out to while in Edmonton, and a tasty coffee shop for celiacs & gluten eaters alike.
